Message from the Dean
Welcome to the third annual College of Business (COB) newsletter. The College
of Business thanks you for your positive feedback and constructive criticisms concerning the content of last year's newsletter.
Given the positive feedback concerning last year's newsletter, we will prepare an ongoing semiannual newsletter for our alumni, prospective employers of our students, potential donors to the COB and other
interested parties.
I am pleased to serve as your dean. I am available to discuss issues concerning the COB at 575-562-2358 or gene.smith@enmu.edu. I look forward to talking with each of you.
COB Articulation Agreements for Transfer Students
During the 2008–09 school year, the COB met with the following Colleges of Businesses: Amarillo College, Amarillo, Texas, South Plains College, Levelland, Texas, New Mexico Junior College, Hobbs, N.M., and PIMA Community College, Phoenix, Ariz. An articulation agreement between the ENMU College of Business and the community colleges identified classes which would transfer to ENMU without the students losing any credits.
College of Business Speakers Series
The College of Business Student Organizations hosted the semi-annual speakers' series on March 11, 2009. Mr. David L. Stone, president of Portales National Bank, presented a program entitled, "The economic climate—how we got here and where we are going." All ENMU faculty, students and staff were invited as well as the general public. More than 50 people attended the series held in the Becky Sharp Auditorium in the College of Business.
